Joining Bujinkan NEW / ron smith
George San,

I currently run a genbukan dojo, I have 5th Dan - but have become fed up with the organisation and want to transfer my dojo to Bujinkan.

Is this possible? I'm happy to re-test, etc, but don't want to lose my dojo.

Thanks

Ron

Re: Joining Bujinkan NEW / George Ohashi
You can't belong to 2 different Kans at a time. If you quit one, you can join another. Please find a Dojo and consult the Dojocho.

Rank Papers NEW / Kyle Hayes
George-san,

I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. I am writing in regard to some rank papers I sent some time ago. I know things can get back logged and slow at times. I sent them via Piority Mail from here in the U.S. on November 10. I know they should be there by now. Just wanted to see if it was possible to get a status? Forgive me if I am asking for a lot. This is the first time these have taken this long. Just wanted to make sure everything is OK.

Thanks in advance,

Kyle Hayes

Re: Rank Papers NEW / George Ohashi
Shiraishi-san suggests you wait a little more. Because they didn't work at the end of '09 and the beginning of this year, they have some backlogs.
Next time please read the FAQ page and EMAIL me.

Japan Visit / Robin Hartley
Konichiwa George san,

My Wife and kids are visiting Japan in March/April, and I am anxious to visit the Hombu and the Budokan.
My concern is protocol. Paul Annas is my Sensei, and he is unable to make the trip to Japan with us this year. He said I should only be formally introduced to Soke by himself, which I fully respect.
How can I visit without breaking protocol and disrespecting Paul Sensei and Soke ?
Sincerely - Robin Hartley

PS

I have seen your name come up on Facebook. You can look me up if you wish. I will send you a friend request.

Re: Japan Visit / George Ohashi
Well, actually there is no such protocol. As the "For More Information" page on my site says, "If you are a Bujinkan member, feel free to visit any dojo (including the Hombu/Ayase) and join the session."

P.S. Thanks for sending me your friend request.

Translation / Simon Rodriguez
Dear George Ohashi Sensei,

I have been precticing at the Bujinkan in Venezuela (Godai Dojo, Shihan Rafael Franco and Shidoshi Sergio Lacruz) for almost ten years, I hope to visit Japan this year and because of that I have read almost all the information you have in your site, it is very complete, while reading the information I had the idea of translating it into Spanish, I am offering myself to do so, that will help all our latin fellows (spanish speakers), in this way they could get the all information directly from your site.
Please let me know if you agree in order to start with the translation asap.

Best regards.

No problem. Go for it.
But please clarify the source (my site's URL) at least. I'm ready to put a link to yours on mine.

Bokken for Tachi study? / Mike Reddick
Hello, Ohashi San,

Is a suburito bokken recommended for practising tachi? Or maybe there is another type of bokken that is better?

Thank you.

Anything is OK, and you can make something. How about buying this? Soke has one.

Japanese Dojo / Amanda Stein Reis
Hi Oashi Sensei,
I came from Brazil but I am living here in Japan for a year as an exchange student. While in Brazil I used to practicing ninjutsu but as my coming here was a little race I do not have time to find a dojo closer to the area where I live. I live in Hongodai in Yokohama and study Kamakura and would like to know if there is a dojo as ckoser from those areas.
I wonder also what I need to do to make a training in the Hombu dojo.
Thanks for any information.

There is a Dojo in Kamakura but I don't think it has a website now. I suggest you visit an Ayase class and speak to the Shihan (when he is there).

As for the Hombu class, just show up and train. If you are not a Bujinkan member yet, speak to me before the class.

But please be careful. He doesn't attend the class every time. One of his students does more often. Good luck.

classes and pricing / bogdan radacina
Hello Ohashi Sensei,

I would inquire about the pricing for the classes in 2010. I believe there was some pricing available on the internet a few months back (in yen) yet I cannot find it anymore.
Thank you in advance.

Bogdan

I doubt it. It has been our rule for 9.5 years not to put prices on the Net.
