And now, in English ^^. Hi everyone, my name is Dominik and I´m a 23 year old student (in fact my 24th birthday is on Sept. 5th, yay!) from Germany. I`ve been studying "Japan Studies" for two years now, which means study of Japanese language, culture, history, society, politics and so on. Obviously my interest in Japan is quite big ;-) which is one of the main reasons I am participating in Nabari workcamp. This will be my first time visit to Japan. I´m honestly looking forward to get to know some Japanese people and hopefully make some new friends there. Of course, I hope, I can make friends with all the other guys and girls, too ;-). Taking care of such a beautiful place as the Akame forest (I´ve seen some pictures) is just a wonderful cause and I hope everything will work out fine for the project.
But, I´ve got a small problem. After the camp is over, I´ll be staying in Japan for two more weeks but unfortunately I still don´t know where to live during this time. In the confirmation e-mail I got from NICE, it said that it might be possible to stay with Japanese locals or camp members for some time after the camp is over. You know, to exchange about each other´s culture and just have a good time together. Well, but I don´t know, if there are really possibilities for that and I don´t know how to get in contact with Japanese people before coming to Japan. I´d really love to stay with a Japanese for a couple of days, because I just don´t want to walk around alone after the camp and stay at some random youth hostel or something like that. For me, coming to Japan means meeting with people, learning about habits and culture and, of course, have some fun together.
So, if anyone of you can help me out, I´d really appreciate it. Don´t hesitate to write in English because, as you´ve probably noticed, my Japanese isn´t very good so don´t fear if your English isn´t, either ^^. |
