I tried to translate this song into English. If you find any grammatical mistakes or sound wierd, please correct them^^ 箱根八里の半次郎 I am Hanjiro from Hakone Hachiri 廻し合羽も三年ガラス I have used my Mawashi gappa ( old Japanese coat for traveling) for three years. 意地の縞目もほつれがち My proud stripes in my Mawashi gappa look old and are fraying out. 夕陽背にして薄を噛めば 湯の香しみじみ里ごころ When I hold Japanese pampas grass behind the sunset, I miss my hometown where I can smell the hot springs. やだねったら やだね 箱根八里の半次郎 Just joking, I am Hanjiro from Hakone Hachiri. Still I cant understand why Hanjiro says " Yadane" in the song. Im going to use the lylics on my power point, show some pictures of Mawashi gappa and Hakone, and introduce the details of this song. I also found Kiyoshis VTR from you tube, that he sang this song. Although the third lylics seem to be easier to translate into English for me, I gave up to introduce it. Its too hard to introduce its details XD ...I remember someone told me that I had to study not only English but also Japanese as a language and Japanese cultures to improve my English skills.
