American Accent Training (親記事) - Takeshi

Hi,everyone.

Since the beginning of this year, I've been working hard to pick up an American accent. It is really hard for me, because I have a strong Japanese accent, which I've found is really hard to get rid of. Luckily, I often have my accent checked by my American friend, but he says I don't quite sound American yet. I also had a chance to have it checked by another foreign friend of mine, and he said my vowels don't sound native-like. What do you think? I was a little dispointed to hear, but that made me think I have to work harder on it. I'll keep the accent training, and I hope I'll sound a little American by the end of this year. If you find strange sounds or intonation in my accent, please let me know. I recorded my accent today.

Hello, everyone

I've been still working on the Accent training. However, my accent seems to be really strong, and no matter how hard I work on it, it seems to be no help. I hate my Japanese accent!! I think my problem is the rhythm and intonation rather than individual sounds, but how can I make it better? I still have a realy long way to go.

Accent Training (with Swimmy) (No.1608への返信 / 2階層) - Takeshi

Hi,everyone!! How are you all these days?

As for me,I have been suffering from hayfever since last week, and can't concentrate on my study at all. Normally, I don't rely on any medication against hayfever ,but yesterday, it was so bad that I finally took medicine, which made me dead drowsy. I nearly fainted while walking out on the street. I hope this season will go away soon.

BTW,I happened to find a book called "Swimmy" the other day, and bought it. I think every Japanese has read it once before. Probably that will remind you of your childfood. It is a very short story, but really good. I uploaded it on my "blog." so that you can listen to it without reading or buying it. Enjoy it if you like. I also tried recording my own reading of it. I did it without much practice, so it's awfully bad. I'll practice some more and record it again

Hi Takeshi-san
I listened to your "Swimmy"with my daughters! It was so nice! My wife thought that this is a nativespeaker.Wow! Anyway, I took NOVAlessons today and I learned some vocabularies. →The hotel was plush. You couldn't fault it. I felt pampered as soon as I walked through the door. Plush, pampered, Stunning sunsets=Breathtaking views ... I felt that "G"lesson is very difficult.

By the way,
I look forward to the party(TEV) Takeshi English Village in ... for HANAMI !!! Geart!!
See you soon!
