The Study Group (親記事) - Takeshi

Hi there. Let me tell you about my schedule for the study group every Saturday. This month, I got another case of teaching, and it's scheduled to be held every Saturday morning and last until the begining of next year, so I'm afraid I'll be unable to make it then. Also, I have the other one later on Saturdays, so I could be ok to be there only for a few hours from around 1 to 4 or 5. I'm sorry for the inconvenine that might cuase you for the time being, but I hope you meet and practice English without me.

And as for this coming Saturday, I have a lot of things to catch up, because I'd been sick in bed this week, so I don't think I can make it then. Besides, I sound really funny like a frog now, so it's better not to talk and try to make another victim.

Good morning! Takeshi-san
According to your blog, you got a new job (teaching TOEFL at school). Actually, I don’t know much about TOEFL but I know it is the greatest English in teaching English. You are getting far from us. We’d like you to be a charismatic English teacher. In my case, it is difficult to keep same label English skill. It might be decreasing (down) my English skills. But I’m enjoyable because I like English conversation. That’s why I can keep studying NOVA. Oops, I have to study TOEIC now! 29th Coming soon! I look forward to seeing you. See you!

Hi,Candyman-san, thanks for the message. Yeah, as you said, I luckily passed the employment exam, but it's just a part-time position, and I haven't been appointed for any class yet. I might not be after all... Pls Keep your fingers crossed for me, hehe. Oh, speaking of TOEIC, I'm also going to take one this month. This should be the last one of this year. I couldn't take the test last month because of the cold, so I can't miss it this time. We still have about 4 weeks left. Let's try to get the best score!!

BTW, it's suddenly got cold lately and it seems like winter is just around the corner. That always reminds me of Christmas. You may think it is too early to think, but you might want to start reading Christmas stories in English. I've already begun it myself, and I think it's good both for your study and fun. Well..here is my recommendation for you. A famous Christmas story called "the Gift of the Magi" is available free on the internet. It's short, so you can read it in a few days or week. I show you the link below..Enjoy it.

Thanks! Takeshi-san
I printed out “the gift of the magi”. I thought I can’t read them. Because there are a lot of difficult words in “the gift of the magi” Although it is very difficult for me, I checked them out the words on an electric dictionary. I tried reading it and I’m getting interested in that. I’m willing to read it but I’ve done it still 3 paragraph. I want to finish it at least until next week. Even if it is a very shot story, it is very difficult to read. Thanks!

Christmas Stories (No.1792への返信 / 4階層) - Takeshi

I'm sure you can read it all right. Just don't pay much attention to difficult words or expressions, and enjoy the story itself. I myself didn't understand some of the sentences or phrases there, but it didn't keep me from reading further. I believe reading English booking is a really good way to learn the language. If you still can't follow the story, I think there is Japanese translation for ths story available online. As for me, I just finished three Christmas stories written by Truman Capote. They are surely written in simple English. You might want to read them later.

And I'm now thinking of reading "Christmas Carol" again this year as well as last. This time, I'll read it very carefully to appreciate the story more.
