Long time no see! Terry –sama
I think Terry-san also English monster man so you are monster man 2 something like that. My TOEIC last score was 620 last September Sooooo Bad. Anyway, King of presenter
マイケルさん I don’t know him. I’m interested in King of presenter but definitely I’m not comfortable with him due to lack of my English. I have studied English at NOVA Kita-senju for 7years but I’ve never met English monster man and マイケルさん So I really wanted to see him at voice room because he is EIGO-SENNIN (He is clearly a bright English teacher)
Since I haven’t seen you and all members in a while, I look forward to seeing you guys at café SANLOZE. TVC( Takeshi-Voice-Club) is good for me.
By the way,
“Speed learning” I often hear about “Speed learning” on the radio. According to the radio advertisement, just listening to the speed learning CD, you can speak English easily and learn English so much only in such a short period of time. Can you believe that? Mr. ISHIKAWA as you know, he is a professional golf player. He recommends that “speed learning” He improves his English using speed leaning textbook. I think for a short of time is I doubt it. I agree with Mr. English monster man (for 7years HIKIKOMORI English man) he is right. There is nothing to learn English for a short of time. However, I often drive the sales car as working so just listening CD is very helpful for me. If someone has taken it, please tell me about that is good or bad or something.

Long Time No See!! (No.1940への返信 / 2階層) - Takeshi

Terry-san, Candyman-san.

It's been quite a long time. How are you two doing? After the Golden week, everything got back to normal, and I'm a little busy with work. Still, because of the earthquake, some of my assigned classes were cancelled and I'm worred if I can survive through the year. In fact, the summer schedule is mostly decided, and I found out I lost some classes I had last year. I think I'll have to look for some more to make a living. Anyway, I'm fine so far.

Terry-san. I'd like you to give a try to TOEFL iBT. I'm always wondering how much, people like you, extremely good English speakers can get in the exam. With my English level now, I don't think I possibly get over 100. I believe you can make it easily though. I also want to try TOEIC again, but now I teach class every Sunday, and no way to take any exams for a while. I think I can take one next January hopefully. I hope you can get full markes soon.

Candyman-san.
I always doubt such "speed learning" things. If you are talented for foreign languages, you could probably pick them up just by listening, maybe. But in this matter, I totally agree with English monster. As he puts it, listening practice means to listen to the sounds you can't get over and over again, and see the script, and then listen again until you remember the sounds. It could take forever, but I think it is only the way you can improve your listening comprehension.

>Candyman-sama

Thank you for your kind and warm reply ! I really have missed you, the members of Takeshi-san's workshop at SANLOZE. I am happy for your being so fine and continuing English study vigorously.

Eigo-Sennin-san(The Wizard of English)is reawlly a great English and TOEIC teacher as well as an absolutely excellent English learner. His book is splendid, too! And I recommend you study TOEIC with his TOEIC educational program which you can buy at the website of the entertainment agency he now works for. http://english-monster.jp/ You seem so eager to get higer scores than current ones at TOEIC from your comment here and I think his material may be the best item for you to achieve your goal at the moment. His suggetions and advice may be a kind of "magic portion", if you feel your have been stuck in a rut and have found it somehow difficult to make a breakthrough. His program may be much more reliable and effective than speed learning methods and so forth.

Michael-san, "The King Presenter", is also one of the most excellent English learners I've ever met. You don't have to worry if you may feel uncomfortable, bored, or irritated when you meet Micheal-san. He is an wondrous actor as well, who would successfully entertain anyone who sees him without boring the person. Your English levels don't matter and soon you will be attracted by his unique and interesting personality and marvelous performances.
He is now "the top student" at three major English school chains in Japan and works for the same entertainment agency as Seninn-san's as "Maika"san. http://narado-ltd.com/artist/

I hope I will see you soon with the above mentioned great English monsters !!

>Takeshi-san

Thank you for your kind and warm reply. I am happy for your being fine and well. And I do hope you will have more classes in the face of the adversity caused by the huge earthquakesso soon. My business is also seriously damaged by the disaster and hope I will overcome the blow somehow.

I would like to take TOEFL iBT soon and actually I bought a textbook recently. Yet I have found it very difficult and energy draining as it has a long test hours. And, if you cannot get over 100 ,then, how could I !? Your highest scoe at TOEIC is 985 which is higher than that of mine which is just 980, and moreover, I got it more than two years ago. I may be able to get about 70 or so... Still, I am eager to get over 100 eventually.

I usually join the free English conversation workshop hosted by "the god of English" once a week or so, which you also sometimes joined before. One of the members who had passed the Special A of UNATE got full score of 990 at TOEIC recently, and the god also got the full score of 200 at TOEIC S/W. Now, I am inspired by the steady efforts and remarkable results and do hope to get 990 at TOEIC, over100 at TOEFL, pass SA of UNATE, over 8.0 at IELTS, and so forth.

I hope you will join the workshop of god's of English again soon and also kindly bestow intensive lessons for TOEFL and other tests on me. The god also says he would like to see you again. And hopefully, let me ask you to reinsate your workshop at SANLOZE in Kitasenjyu, though I know you are very busy... I would like to see the members there,Sennin-san, and Michael-san somewhere.

See you soon !

Thanks for the message. I visited the webstie you left here and found a profile for Micheal-san. As a matter of fact, I've never met him before, though I know he is very famous in NOVA. He is really good-looking, and looks exotic. I think he can pass for a native speaker not only because of his English but his appearance.

And, I've always wanted to join your group, but I always and always get cold feet, and give up. It's been years since I last saw them. I'm kind of busy now, but if I got a chance, I would like to see them soon.

By the way, which GOD are you talking about here? For me, there are GODs. One is the Eiken examiner and previous interpreter at the US embassy. The other is Ben-san, who also hosted a study group somewhere. I'd like to see both of them though. Also can you tell me when the group is held? If I'm free then, I might be able to join you. No more cold feet ne. lol

>Takeshi-san

Thank you for your prompt reply. Michael-san is really a great English speaker especially when it comes to giving presentations or performing in English. I firmly recommend you to meet and talk to him.

BTW, as for the English study groups, you never have to get cold feet at all ! You are one of the best English speakers, learners, test takers, and teachers. I think you can give us a lot for us to improve our ability of English.
Please feel free to join us whenever is convenient to you.

The "god of English" that I referred to was the versed interpreter who had worked for the embassy. His group is hosted once or twice a week. the next session is going to be held tomorrow, 15th Sun. in Kouenji area 13:00-17:00. usually, the sessions are held on Tuesdays or Wednesdays and Sundays, and some of them are at a ward facility in Kouenji and some ar at one in Kyobashi. You have his contact info or I shall give you one.

Ben-san's group is also working energetically but I have not joined it for more than 1 year. Yet I joied its year-end party last year and joined a new year party this year. Ben-san asked me to give a presentation about the historical background of Buddhism and influence to our culture or society at the group. Unfortunately, I have not been able to given one yet, so I would like to do soon. I keep in touch with Ben-san, so if you are interested inthe group, I could tell him about your request.

I am looking forward to seeing you again soon at those workshops.

Terry-sama
Thank you for all the advice and help you gave me.
I bought English monster man’s English strategies book (1000yen) but I didn’t know that his TOEIC test book. To be exact, it is not book it’s an e-learning which means using on PC. I’m going to take TOEIC test next month so If I get bad scores, I should take an e-learning English monster strategies. The cost is 46,800yen (target for 760) so it’s not inexpensive I have to think about my budget. The e-learning is very effective for TOEIC learner because of English monster man. Thanks anyway, Terry-san.
Speaking of maika-san, obviously he looks like an actor so cool.
Thanks for your kindness! See you soon.

Thanks for the info. I have his address unless it's changed. It seems that the schedule hasn't changed for years since I joinded last, and I'm happy to know they are still having the group just as usual. With a current schedule of mine, I don't have much free time during the week, but I might be able to join on Sundays. In fact, I have regular class on Saturday mornings and evenings, and one private student says she might come back to my afternoon lesson from "the earthquake break." BUT If she doesn't, or if I'm not tied up with class preparation, I'd definitely like to see you all in the group.

Thank you for your info .Actually what I meant as "TOEIC book" of Sennin-san was what your say e-learning material here. I think that one is one of the most effective material. BTW, yesterday I bought a magazine called "潮 6月号" which included an interview article of Sennin-san. i recommend you to buy and read it. I feel the need to brush up my English for TOEIC. Let's do our best ! i hope you will get 760 or higher at the next TOEIC.
I am looking forward to seeing you again soon.

> terry-san

Hi. I'm happy to hear you still keep in touch with the members. It's been five years.. how fast time flies, doesn't it? What you are saying there reminds me of the first time when I saw YOU in the magazine. When I read the article about your winning the first prize, I thought how could anyone possibly be good like you, and never expected I would have talked with you later in person. And I thank you for letting me meet some other experts like the God and Ben-san. I hope we all get together again, and talk in English.

By the way, have you read the weblog by the God? It was placed more than a year ago, and when I read it, I thought myself how little effort I've been making to study English. He reads a lot and watches a lot in English. Then, workshops three times a week, not to mention his job as an instructor. His writing encouraged me a lot to work much harder. I think his tenacious efforts and committment to English have made him, what everybody casts no doubt on, "GOD" Anyway, I'll put the address here below for you and other visitors here.

>Takeshi-san

Thank you very much for your extreme admiration for me and the precious info on the essays of "the god of English".
I really appreciate and I am really flattered but actually, I am afraid I don't deserve such a high evaluation of yours. The god's level and Ben-san's level are much higher than mine.Theirs are almost unattainable.
Sennin-san's level is the same. His interview articles are on 「潮 6月号」and「クーリエジャポン」now.Those articles are good, too. And he will appear on 「ザ・ベストハウス123」on May 18th and 21th(re-run). http://narado-ltd.com/artist/creator/kikuchi/index.html

And still, now and then, I reminisce about the first prize and the magazine article about me on the old NOVA. Fortunatelly enough, I have met a lot of wonderful people who are so vigoroully studying English including YOU due to the prize and article. I am full of gratitude for that fact. Your English is naturally much higher and better than mine. Would you kindly give me the knacks ?

BTW, I read the articles of the god of English on the site you kindly introduced to me. I have found them quite interesting and instructive. Thank you for sharing the info.

I am looking forward to seeing you again soon at their workshops.

Have you got it? (No.1946への返信 / 4階層) - Takeshi

Canyman-san.

Hi, how are you doing these days? You seem to be working hard to get your target score in TOEIC, and I'm happy to know you are trying to improve your English. Well,, here, let me introduce again the book Temma-sensei recommends. I think you remember the book I mentioned before. Since then, in fact, I've been using it for my TOEIC class, and I find it so useful for learners who wants over 700. As temma-sensei demonstrates, you listen to the CD and speak out, until you remember the phrases. The phrases are simply written, but all natural and very often used in TOEIC test. It's not too costly. I really recommend it again.

1800 Frequently Used Words and Phrases for the TOEIC TEST

-------- uploading from the privious log ------------
Hi everyone. I'm writing here to let you know about the textbook I highly recommend. It's for TOEIC mainly to build up your vocabulary, but it can be used for other purposes as well. I happened to find the book by casually browsing through the internet. In fact, I found it because Temma-sensei is recommending it online, and I decided to buy a copy. It's wriitten by Jay-san. It contains a lot of words or phrases you can often find in TOEIC tests. The book goes with a story full of useful words and expressions, so you can enjoy just reading it. Following Temma-sensei's instruction, I listen and talk with the CDs every day. It's a lot of fun and highly recommandable. Have a look at it. I leave the links of his instruction below.

Thanks for the infomation. In fact, last time I saw Sennin-san, it was on the train. When I jumped onto the train and sat on the train, believe or not, I found he was sitting right next to me. More surprisingly, he was reading some English material and mumbling with it even there. That was when I saw "a halo" above his head. lol. He said, then, that he wants to be able to translate every single sentence in Japanse to English. I never thought about such ideas, but I thought this kind of effort makes him God. Anyway, thanks for the info about him. I hope I can see him on TV later.

Thank you for your reply. Your anecdote related to Sennin-san sounds very interesting ! Actually, I watched the TV program and saw him on it yesterday. I hope he will appear on the program on 21 as well. BTW, I introduced this website of yours here to one of the new members of the God's workshop. The member has already read this and found it very interesting and instructive. He may get in thouch with you. If that is the case, would you kindly communicate with him, for he is a very industrious and vigorous English learner as well as an English teacher.

Takeshi-san Thank you!
I’ve done it before, you recommended that Tenma-sensei. I checked his YOU-CUBU and then I tried it on the TOEIC 5times listening (essence?) speak out so I studied for TOEIC test as Tenma-sensei. It is very helpful for me about these months. But even now, I couldn’t read it speak it speak out same time as well as native speaker. I’m getting better speaking well though. I’ve done TOEIC 5times tons of times so I’m getting used to it and sick of it (maybe exaggerating) so it’s time for next textbook. I’m going to buy your recommend 1800 TOEIC and Tenma-sensei method.
Terry-san thanks for your info the wizard of English (Eigo-sennin)

Takeshi-san Terry-san
Anyway, we are supposed to take part in Oasis party on 28th Saturday night 5pm. Our member is club 5 to 3 different from yours (club 2). Speaking of Oasis, the teachers are very friendly and they were ex NOVA teachers at Ueno hirokoji. I don’t know why? To come the party members (maybe half of members are Oasis students) speak in Japanese each other. I’m very disappointed but our members try to speak in English during the party. If you have a kill some time, please join the party. 3,000yen (excluding Drinks)
See you!

Nice to meet you, takeru-san.

I'm very happy you visited my website and left the message. I'm also glad to meet an English teacher like you. Since we are both teachers, I think we have a lot to talk about in common, and we can exchange opinions and improve English and teaching skills. And if you are going to take STEP, you are very lucky to have Terry-san as a friend. He knows a lot about how it goes in the interveiw test, and when I was trying to pass the exam myself, he helped me a lot with mock interviews. No exaggeration, without his help, I wouldn't have passed the interview. Now I sometimes teach for STEP 1st grade interveiw test, and In fact, what I teach there is pretty much the same as what I learned from Terry-san. Thanks, Terry-san :) if you have a chance, you should get some advice from him. It's surely helpful, and I'm also happy to help you whatever possible.

Thanks again for coming here and leaving your message. I hope we can exchange messages here and talk in Tom'san Voice.

Takeshi-sensei

It's really nice meeting you, I'm so thankful to Terry-san as always...He is such a generous man and I truely admire both his English and personality from the bottom of my heart. How did you meet him? I've met him at Nichibei-Kaiwa-Gakuin about 4 years ago and since then he's been so kind to me...He has introduced me so many nice people like you and I hope I can reciprocate for his kindness little by little.

My biggest weakness of English is vocabulary so I'm trying to learn as many words as I can everyday, but it's pretty tough...

However by looking at your blog, I'm really stimulated and excited to learn a lot from you.

Thank you for showing your interest in my blog or website. I've always tried to write as often as possible, but I'm tied up with all the preparation for class day after day, and never get around to it these days.

As for meeting Terry-san. I don't really remember when. I think I happened to find him online and contacted him first. After getting to know each other, he joined my study group. That was a kind of end-year party, and he brought calendars to us. Or... before that... For Tom-san. Terry-san introduced me to him before I took Eiken, when he was still an interviewer for the test. I learned a lot about the exam then. It was straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. lol Later, I joined Tom-san's voice, and it was great, but with my poor English, I thought I didn't yet deserve to be there. I'd like to come back though, if I can be much better.

Oh, one more thing. if you are having trouble memorizing words for STEP, I know a book I think is useful. In fact, when I taught a student for the exam, I used it and his vocab improved a lot. A strong point of the book is that each word has a short sentence, and easy to memorize. If you can already get around 20 out of 25, forget about it. You might find it too easy. Anyway, check it out. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Takeshi-sensei

Thank you very much for introducing me a great book.
I'm a part time teacher now and didn't have enough money to
buy the book you introduced me...As a result I could only
get 12 for the vocab part.
I got a full mark for TOEIC Listening, but I could only
get 16 for the STEP 1 Listening part.
Overall I did really poorly, and I felt so angry about
my poor English.
I think I need to improve all 4 skills by putting a very
hard effort. Hope I can reach your level one day!
Anyway, once I get the salary, I'll buy the book you
introduced me. THANK YOU SINCERELY.
